When and Where??

Who were the main leaders?

Samuel Adams and Paul Revere were basically the leaders. About 175 colonists in the area participated in the throwing of the tea. They all dressed up as Mohawk Indians and boarded the 3 ships.

What happened during the Boston Tea Party?

During the Boston Tea Party, the colonists who were participating threw 342 chests of tea into the harbor! That's A LOT! This was the way of colonists saying,"We are NOT paying your stupid taxes!"

Why did the Boston Tea Party happen?

Parliament passed the Tea Act which helped the East India Company avoid being bankrupt. The company could import and sell tea at a low price, lower than smuggled tea. But the colonists had to pay the tax. the British figured Americans would pay the tax if the tea was low. But each time a ship came in, colonists had to pay the taxes within 20 days.

What happened after the Boston Tea Party?

After the Boston Tea Party the other colonies did the same things. To prove to Parliament that they weren't their toys they threw tea off of ships that came to their ports.

How was the event ended or resolved?

Parliament finally had enough of everything, so they passed the Intolerable Acts. They were a series of laws that made sure colonists wouldn't do the Boston Tea Party again. Parliament wanted to change the colonists resistance against everything they passed.

How did the Boston Tea Party impact history?

The Boston Tea Party impacted history because the colonists began to realize that they didn't want the king controlling them anymore. They also realized that they did things better together, as united people.
